Finish and Post-Finish
NYRR works closely with the NYPD to ensure a safe experience for all. Before race day, please familiarize yourself with our finish-area map, which will be available closer to race day.
Approximately the last 700 feet of the race is on the Coney Island boardwalk; the finish is in front of Tom’s Coney Island restaurant. Bleachers for approximately 200 spectators will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.
After you finish, runners walk west along the boardwalk, collect their finisher medal, and have their picture taken by MarathonFoto. A Recovery Bag Presented by Hospital for Special Surgery, which includes water, Gatorade, Snyder's of Hanover pretzels, and PowerBar Protein Plus bars, will be available, along with medical services.
Baggage claim and toilets will be located in the MCU Park parking lot, which will be restricted to runners only.
Runners are encouraged to have a plan for meeting friends and family after the race, as large crowds are expected and cell service is weak in the area. The immediate finish area and the MCU Park parking lot are for runners only. Runners should add 15 to 30 minutes to their finish time (or to their projected time if they are unable to access cell service) to plan when to meet. All spectators should have a government-issued photo ID with them in the post-finish area and be aware that all bags are subject to search by NYPD and security personnel.
The Popular Brooklyn Half After-Party at MCU Park is a great place to reunite with friends and family! Sections of the stadium seating will be marked with letters; runners can arrange to meet at the letter corresponding to your last name. In addition, runners can relax on the stadium field and purchase refreshments, and enjoy live music and entertainment.
