Start Waves and Corrals

To ensure a safe race for everyone, we start the United Airlines NYC Half in two separate waves, each with lettered corrals (AA-L for wave 1; A-L for wave 2). You will be assigned to a wave and corral in the weeks leading up to the race and your assignment will be on your race number (bib). Your assignment is based on your previous best pace with NYRR or your predicted finish time and is designed to help you have a safe race experience. You can start slower corral (a later letter) or a later wave, but not a faster corral or earlier wave.

Plan your travel to arrive at the race staging area by 6:00 a.m. (wave 1) or 6:45 a.m. (wave 2) if you are checking a bag, and by 6:30 a.m. (wave 1) or 7:15 a.m. (wave 2) if you are not checking a bag. See the full schedule below.

Wave 1 Timeline

Bag check opens 5:30 a.m.
Corrals open 6:00 a.m.
